Singletree Productions was formed in 2006 by Mark Potts and Cole Selix. Based in Norman, Oklahoma, the company has won numerous awards for its screenplays, short films and feature films. The company has been featured in The Oklahoman, Oklahoma’s largest newspaper, The Oklahoma Gazette, and on News Channel 4.
Mark Potts would like you to believe that he has always known that he wanted to be a filmmaker, but that isn’t the case. He actually wanted to be a baseball player, but, after discovering Twinkies at an early age, he gained too much weight to continue in the sport. Plus, he got into playing the trumpet and marching band, so not only did he lose coolness by quitting baseball, he went into negative numbers by joining the band. But he was, and still is, okay with that. He’s fully content with what he is now: a college graduate from the University of Oklahoma majoring in Film and Video Studies and Professional Writing and making movies whenever he can. In 2006, he and long-time friend, Cole Selix, formed Singletree Productions. Their shorts have been accepted into many film festivals and received numerous awards.
Cole Selix realized his love for film at an early age when his grandmother and mother would check him out of school to see such glorious masterpieces as Ghostbusters 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1, 2, and sadly enough, 3. His love for film continued on into his college education where he enrolled in a program for special effects and post-production training. After quickly realizing he did not want to stare at a computer in the basement of an office building all day, Cole began creating short films with good friend Mark Potts. Cole graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Film and Video Studies. He is married to Amy Selix and has a son, Xander Selix. He desperately hopes that he and Mark become successful so his child doesn’t think that he is total failure.
After watching films as a young boy, Brand Rackley would memorize the lines and then act out scenes for anyone who would listen. Finally, upon seeing, memorizing and acting out 1989’s “Batman,” Brand decided he wanted to be an actor. Over the years, aside from the detours into sports and the philosophical acting breakdown he experienced after the release of 1997’s “Batman & Robin,” Brand has stayed focused on entertaining through various media outlets. Brand is currently a junior majoring in journalism at the University of Oklahoma and is strongly considering a minor in Film and Video Studies as well. Brand has recently enjoyed harsh criticism for both his humor and satire columns and the film reviews he writes for the University of Oklahoma’s student paper, the Oklahoma Daily and online newspaper website, hub.ou.edu.

Sure! Which film would you like us to send? “Simmons on Vinyl” is our newest feature. We are finishing up a third though.
